| Origin: | the Exotic breed began in the United States (1960). Breeders crossed Persian cats with American Shorthair to create the Exotic. |
| Appearance: | A short, sturdy, medium-sized cat with a snub-nosed face. The body is stocky and low to the ground. Exotic have a short, plush coat. Their fur is thick and soft, the eyes are large. Exotics can be many colours. The most common colours are black, tortoiseshell, red tabby, brown tabby, red and cream. |
| Personality: | are known for their calm and easygoing personalities, seem to enjoy being around people. Exotic are playful but gentle cats. They get along well with dogs, children, other cats. |
